In 2007 Amanda began having major medical problems. Doctors have searched for a few years to an answer, and the best concensus to date is Mixed Connective Tissue Disease. This has been a struggle for both family and friends, but at times even a blessing.
It is because of these circumstances that God has affirmed Amanda and moved her to the position that she is in now. "I am so greatful for those of you that support me, and hang tough and keep me strong. This is the reason for choosing the name "Arkeo." I can be strong, I am enough, but only in Christ and nothing of myself. Just because I have a disease doesn't keep me from using my gifts and talents that the Lord has blessed me with. I am thankful for each day no matter what it brings. I am so thankful for my family caring and loving me no matter what. I am blessed to have such wonderful friends who always encourage me and find ways to make me smile even when I am in pain. I don't think I can ever say thank s enough to you all!"
Amanda Gallamore is a 2006 graduate of Southwest Baptist University where she received her degree in Communications and Commercial Arts with a concentration in photography.
Upon graduation from college she worked as a Sales Representative and then later a Graphic Designer for local screen printing companies in Bolivar, Missouri. In 2010 The Arkeo Agency, LLC. started to take off and became Amanda's full time job.
Gallamore began The Arkeo Agency, LLC. in 2009 as a freelance designer and photographer. Arkeo is the Greek word meaning "to be strong, sufficient, or to be enough." Being strong has had a new meaning to Amanda, her family, and friends throughout her life. During high school she faced many unknown health issues preventing her from following her dreams in soccer. However this led to new passions and ambitions in the video, design, and photography fields.
In college she encountered another health problem and underwent major back surgery. Again a humbling experience, but one of great lessons in trusting and knowing that God has a plan for everything. These lessons were mere building blocks for what was to come.
